Orchids Carnival at Kew

It has been a long time since my last visit at Kew Gardens. Rather chilly weather this time of the year but it didn’t put me off as the orchids extravaganza was in a full swing. As soon as we walked into the tropical paradise of The Princess of Wales Conservatory I was blown away by the colourful display of orchids, bromelias and other plans from Brazil and around the world.

Did you know that there are around 2,500 different orchid species growing in Brazil?

This show has now ended but I like the fact of having this amazing collection of plants from around the world on my doorstep. No matter what time of the year you visit the gardens, there is always so much to explore. I can’t wait for Summer to grab a bunch of friends and spread our picnic in the front of Kew Palace – my favourite spot.

Tell me which one is your favourite? I’m feeling inspired to create a mini orchids display on my window.
